Wally's World is seen on NBC/TNT's joint production NASCAR coverage and NBC's coverage with CORR the Championship Off Road Racing series. Analyst Wally Dallenbach with his Wally's World celebrity ride-along features track layouts and conditions which the series are running that weekend, while normally scaring a Celebrity on the ride along while fans at home get an in depth coverage of the facility. Great for the fans at home, some Celebrities will think twice about ever strapping it in with Dallenbach again. Wally runs the track at competition speed, and at some tracks where restrictor plates are used on competition, well, let's just say, Wally's World doesn't have restrictor plates!
He doesn't try to enlighten: "I'm not trying to teach anybody anything. I just try to scare the hell out of people."
Singer Lisa Marie Presley complained Dallenbach "perpetually wanted to make me feel like I was going to die every two seconds."
Dallenbach said that Actor David Spade screamed to be let out before the car even moved - "but I shamed him back into it."
Actor Will Ferrell took the hot seat, to hype his NASCAR-themed film Talladega Nights. Dallenbach, who actually owns a working British army tanker as well as a functioning Gatling gun, said that he went as fast as he could with Ferrell which after Ferrell heard that, he thought twice about getting in with Wally.
But Ferrell went 170 mph for his film in a ride-along at Richard Petty's driving school. Then he drove a NASCAR race car solo there: "I didn't want to, but they called my name and I had to get in the car."
And he was proud afterward, having gone 135 mph: "I beat Britney Spears, and that's all I care about. They told me she'd been there and done 127."
